Helvellyn Wild Camp Adventure – Lake District

2 days

Helvellyn Wild Camp Adventure – Lake District

Overview

Spend two days exploring the heart of the Lake District on this guided wild camping adventure centred around Helvellyn, one of England’s most iconic mountains.

Carrying everything you need for the weekend, you'll journey through classic Lakeland scenery, climb high mountain ridges, and spend a night under canvas in a carefully chosen wild camp location. Along the way you'll learn practical skills for lightweight backpacking, campcraft and mountain travel, while enjoying some of the finest views in the National Park.

The route takes in the summit of Helvellyn, with Striding Edge as an option on the way up for anyone who fancies it and a gentler line for anyone who doesn't. With small group sizes and an experienced Mountain Leader, it works as a first proper mountain wild camp or as a fully guided weekend for walkers who already know the fells.

Expect spectacular scenery, rewarding mountain walking, a night beneath the stars, and the unique satisfaction that comes from carrying your home on your back and sleeping high in the fells.
