From guided hikes in the UK to wild camping trips under the stars, the Great British Adventure Club connects you with the UK’s largest community of independent mountain guides — designing and leading authentic, off-the-beaten-path adventures that showcase Britain at its wildest.

Welcome to the Great British Adventure Club.

We're the GBAC — one of the UK's largest networks of independent mountain guides. Qualified Mountain Leaders, wild campers and adventure professionals, pooling decades on the hill to offer expert-led trips the length of the country.

From guided wild camping to day hikes and skills courses, our small-group trips are led by guides who know these landscapes properly — with gear rental bundles available so you can focus on the experience, not the faff.

You'll find us wild camping in the Cairngorms, day hiking the Lake District, running navigation courses on Dartmoor and fast packing the Brecon Beacons. Wherever the adventure is, we hope to take you with us.

Welcome to the club.

What our customers say about us

Kirk D

Great Dartmoor walk today for the RICS. Disappointed not to have caught it all after accidentally locking my car keys in the vehicle, along with my two dogs! Hope to be attending another event soon. all the best.

The moonlit walk was a wonderful experience. Keith is a great leader: he finds a lovely balance of personal anecdote, informative inputs on historical and natural features and just letting the group enjoy themselves. His engaging and relaxed manner conceals his levels of experience and expertise and the care he takes in choosing the routes and attending to safety, which leaves the rest of us free to simply enjoy the walk. He even managed to lay on nightjars for us!

Great guide, great gear, great experience. Much better value than tour companies and the guides know their stuff and have a genuine love of the outdoors to share with you. Highly recommend!!!

I joined the Cadair Idris hike in March. Our guide Antony was absolutely brilliant. We had some really challenging windy weather which, for me, made the second day very tough. However Ant adapted the plan, kept moral high and found us some lovely spots to wildcamp and made us feel safe the whole time. The views on the first and last day were stunning (I’m sure on the second day too, just couldn’t see them!). I’m very glad I joined the GBAC trip and would love to do another!
